JAMES DARREN
James Darren , a film actor, TV star, singer, and director, made 19 films including The Guns of Navarone and Gidget. In the early 60's his musical hits included Goodbye Cruel World, which became number one in the US, as well as Angel Face, Conscience, and Her Royal Majesty - every one of which made the Top Ten List.
Darren continued to make films and in 1966 starred in The Time Tunnel, his first TV series. When the show ended, Darren decided to concentrate on his singing. He teamed with comedian Buddy Hackett for what would become a twelve-year partnership touring the country.
In 1983, Darren was offered the role of Jim Corrigan on the ABC-TV series T.J. Hooker. He directed the final episode of T.J. Hooker, which led to multiple TV directing jobs including Hunte, Nowhere Man, The A-Team, Hardball, and Police Story.
Darren has been rediscovered by a whole new generation of fans due to his appearances in the seventh and final season of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine as Vic Fontaine, a holographic swinging 60's Vegas lounge singer. He is currently touring the country, once-again singing to adoring fans. |

MAUREEN MCGOVERN
Maureen McGovern's career spans 35 years, including recordings, concerts, Broadway, theater, films, television, radio and composing, all with a voice that defies categorization.
Her recording career began with her #1 chart-topping, Oscar winning International Gold Record "The Morning After" from the blockbuster film The Poseidon Adventure followed by a Grammy nomination for "Best New Artist." She replicated this success with another Oscar winning International Gold Record, "We May Never Love Like This Again," from The Towering Inferno.
Maureen made history in 1975 as the first singer to have recorded and introduced two Oscar nominated songs in the same year. Over an illustrious career that has spanned close to four decades, Peaches & Herb have established themselves as an international household name.
In 1978, producer Freddie Perren took the group in the studio, and the result was the monster hit that became #4 in the world: “Shake Your Groove Thing” in 1979.
Peaches & Herb were on top again, but not yet to the pinnacle, which occurred in 1980 with one of the decade’s biggest hits, “Reunited”, which became #1 in the world. Their album “Twice the Fire” went gold and “Too Hot” went triple platinum. TAVARES
One of the most memorable soul groups of the 70's and 80's, with instantly recognizable hits such as "Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel" and "More Than A Woman" have become classics.
Their debut album "Check It Out", was issued in early 1974. The title track slow jam single went to No. 5 R&B on Billboard's charts in summer 1973.
"Check It Out" was followed by "Hard Core Poetry" in summer '74, helmed by songwriting & production duo Dennis Lambert & Brian Potter. It listed the number one hit "She's Gone," and "Remember What I Told You to Forget," which hit No.4 in 1975. Lambert & Potter produced "In the City" (summer '75), which yielded the driving No.1 hit "It Only Takes a Minute."
Tavares' album "Sky High" (spring '76) was the group's first collaboration with producer Freddie Perren. Sky High boasted the sparkling No.3 R&B hit "Heaven Must Be Missing an Angel" in summer 1976.

In 1967, a little-known group call The 5th Dimension recorded a song called “Up, Up, and Away, which turned out to be one of the biggest smash hits in musical history. The single won five Grammy Awards, the group catapulted to stardom, and their story has been one of success ever since.

THE CRYSTALS
When Phil Spector discovered The Crystals, not one was yet out of high school. Their first recording, There's No Other (Like My Baby) was also their first hit which catapulted them straight to the "Apollo" theatre. They continued their successful recordings with five more TOP TEN records: Uptown, He's A Rebel, He's Sure The Boy I Love, Da Doo Ron Ron, and Then He Kissed Me.
